Great stuff Mikey. Sharpe was almost a visionary when you read him now. Hope you are enjoying them as much as I did. If you are, I know you are putting the book down whilst you wipe the tears of laughter out of your eyes, and then re-reading that bit and laughing all over again.:))
Which one is second of them Wilt on high or the Wilt alternative, I have them also once I pick them up I can't put them down its been a few years since reading that trilogy.
Thanks for that Mikey Wilt alternative been second, I dusted them down... terrible behavior from me on that one however still in good condition and not dog-eared I've used a bookmark since school. I've not read or seen the adaptation of porterhouse blue though.
My son has just given me a new copy of Riotous Assembly. I started to read this year's ago but didn't finish it( typical) So excited. I remember it was soo funny! Can't wait to read it.
Tilly....I read it years ago, just after that marvellous TV adaption, with David Jason and John Sessions.....I am not sure which I enjoyed most.....the book or the TV !
Finished the final Wilt book last night "Wilt in Nowhere"
Slightly ( but only very slightly) disappointed as Wilt himself appears so little in the book. Now off to the library to take out "Porterhouse Blue"....that is if the residents of HM Prison, Swansea can spare it !
The prison is part of the local library scheme apparently..............never knew that !
Half way through Porterhouse Blue. Last night I read the bit where Skullion is running around the Quad, spearing gas-filled contraceptives with a broomstick with a pin on the end !
I have them all. All very funny. Two of the funniest are Riotous Assembly and Indecent Exposure. I've read them many times and they still make me laugh.
Terry Pratchett is also hilarious. His Discworld books are brilliant!
