of course I recollect Nkrumah who led the gold coast to glorious freedom in 1957 I think. It was at a time that Cambridge was still running colonial officers' courses as Africa independent or not would need administrator for at least another 200y

also I think he was the one who said he could drive a coach and horses ( England educated ) thro the wonderful post independence constitution he was given
