mOMENT the thunder omen ...book title?
An omen is a sign and thunder was once thought to be a sign from the gods.
Also it's in moment m(omen)t
I'm also unhappy with this clue. Sure, I can see it - OMEN - as a hidden word, but ' heard' suggests a ' sounds like' type of clue. And 'a thunder' is pretty poor English! Is there something I can't see here?
Just a duff clue, I think. What crossword is it from?
>>> And 'a thunder' is pretty poor English!

Not according to the OED, which recognises the use of the indefinite article there and cites examples from Shakespeare, Tennyson and others.
Hard Rain

Lyrics

Bob Dylan

//And what did you hear, my blue-eyed son?
And what did you hear, my darling young one?
I heard the sound of a thunder that roared out a warnin'//

Warning = Omen

Possible?
Brilliant, Mamya. Considering the theme(s) of this puzzle, Bob Dylan etc, that's what I was missing. Stick to my claim of poor English, though, despite OED's citing of long-dead poets. Anything goes for lyricists of modern music, tho'.
Of the references that did pop up, I stuck with that one simply because as you say Dylan featured in the puzzle - it will do for me.

Whether it's where the setter wanted us to go may be a different matter.
