In my experience the letter comes after the payment has been made. I believe it's done alphabetically. I've had nothing yet but expect it by the end of the month.

They seem to prefer wives, I've had mine, he hasn't so I'll make him sit in the garden til he gets it, not getting my warmth!

^^ completely separate pensions. Mine is pathetic compared to his as I dared to stay at home to raise kids.
