Which Car To Buy???

i'm after a new car due to a job change and rather substantial salary increase. I'm only 21 - unfortunately with no NCB due to being on my parent's insurance for some time. The price of the insurance is not really an issue as i'm prepared to pay whatever it takes to get the right car (plus i've got the money to spend). My limit really would probably be a group 16/17.

So the question is, for 12k what should i buy car wise that is a) stupidly quick (the quicker the better), b) still within manufacturer warranty period, c) won't lose a fortune in depreciation and (most importantly) d) has 4 full size seats - as my new company stipulates.

I know this may seem crazy but the right car is so important to me and should be a pleasurable driving experience as its the greatest thing ever.

Try out a Golf Tdi mk4. Absoulutely fantastic cars.

you could look at some of the MG cars that are still being sold off cheap, they are quick (well some are) and certainly will meet the other criteria

Try a Seat Leon Cupra. Preferably the 225. Very quick car. You'll easily get one in warranty on your budget.

Easy choice, Impreza Turbo, four doors, big boot, cast iron reliability, sporting cred, and will walk all over all of the above suggestions!

golf tdi 150 would be good choice if you need good fuel comsumption + quick, comfay, and resale value will be excelleant. If you want something fast and a bit different go for an st220. imprezas are ok but not my cup of tea (have a bit of a reputation for having chocolate pistions if modified or driven hard + lots get stolen)
