Amsterdam excursions to Belgium?

My 2 teenage granddaughters and myself will be staying in Amsterdam in early July and would like to see Belgium while we are there. Neither my travel agent nor myself has been able to find a tour company who books excursions to Belgium. We'll settle for anywhere in Belgium, but we're hoping for Antwerp/Brussels. A private tour is OK, if it isn't cost prohibitive. The day we can go is Monday, July 3, 2006. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

there's an hourly inter-city train service from Amsterdam CS to Brussel Midi/Zuid, journey time 2hrs 50mn, and the fare for a day trip on the day in question is EUR 42.50. check out http://www.ns.nl/servlet/Satellite?cid=1075985690180&pagename=www.ns.nl%2FPage%2FSuperHomepageEnglish&lang=en&c=Page for more detail.

Try a Belgium tour operator: Seagull 0032 5956 5900 or try one in Holland: OAD Reisen 0031 548 37 77 77. (both have English speaking staff of course) and ask for any suitable tours from Amsterdam or their suggestions for a specfic escorted tour or day trip. I've had conttact for work with both in the past and they have been very accommodating.

Alternative is simply enquire at your hotel in Amsterdam for their similar companies and book a trip on arrival.

if you've just got a day, you could easily spend it in Brussels, or Bruges (or Ghent or Antwerp)... in which case just buy a city map and hop on the train.
