We've had a few waifs and stays over the years, some slightly known to us admittedly.

My Dad was the worst, he was a Postman back when they delivered Christmas Day - he'd often bring someone home for a feed up and something wrapped up to take with them.

I was too young to think it different or unusual.
Yes db. They were aware.
Ive known the groom since he was a boy & he schooled with my son. He was adopted, which I think is the basis of his problems.
It's good he has some stability in his life Tambo.
Not for Christmas dinner but we (well, himself) did invite two foreign lorry drivers round to watch a football match,
I once invited all my staff who had no one to share Christmas with, to come to us. On Christmas morning disaster struck. I woke up with ‘flu and found myself having to cook for 16 people. Even though I didn’t eat, I fed them all and they all had a lovely Christmas. :o)
//and they all had a lovely Christmas. :o)//
plus the flu

Actually, no.
