My old faithful Canon printer has just packed up. Recommendations/advice appreciated for replacement Windows 10 compatible and preferably with separate inks. I've looked on-line but many seem not to be compatible with Windows 10.

Any modern printer will be compatible with Windows 10, so that's not a problem.
I'd stick with Canon, with this being the obvious choice for me:

Got a Canon MX410, never been a bit of trouble. Worked wireless with a laptop using w8 and a desktop on 7 at the same time. Also upgraded to w10 on both machines with no problem, can print from my mobile phone if I want to. I am about to change my wireless router soon that will be the test. Oh also prints great photo grade prints with the right paper, and copies and faxes if required.
Thank you all for your help. I will go for a Canon but looking online at Currys and the number of models, does anyone know which one is the most recent one. I'm quite a distance from a branch and it's not possible to contact a sales person. I don't want to just guess and the order online. Many thanks, 2Margaret
Sorry for the delay in replying. (I've not been well).
When providing my original answer I deliberately researched the most recent Canon model compatible with your requirements, so my link above to PC World (which is the same firm as Curry's anyway) is the one you need. (I currently use the discontinued Canon MG5350 and, if it was to pack up, I'd have no hesitation in replacing it with the MG5750, particularly as it's offered at a very attractive price).
. . . and here's where I'd buy my compatible inks from:

Thank you all, have now plumped for an Epson XP-442 and so far so good!. Now have another problem - my cousin has an Epson SX445W and this afternoon has accidentally changed it from 'English' to a foreign language (the printer not him!). Can't find a way to change back to English and the online manuals don't seem to have anything on this. Can anyone help? Thanks, Margaret2
