I remember going into a chippie in Ashton in Makerfield and seeinf a sign up for "smack".

It was only about 30p and never did end up finding out what it actually was.

Does anyone know?

It's mainly a chinese I think but does chips and pies and such as well.
Possibly on Old Road, there's one there like you describe.
