Some people say miracles don't happen. Well let me tell you , they do! Having been without out my dishwasher for about 14 months after it wouldn't drain, yesterday I thought I'd try it. I couldn't believe it! Yes it was working again! This is the best Xmas present I could have, with lots of family coming tomorrow. I am so happy........

Hopkirk, I tried it quite a few times after it wouldn't drain. I had to get water in to old pots, old towels etc. Blooming nuisance. So I gave up after a while. I'm just so relived it ' healed itself in time for Xmas!'

He was nice Jordyboy! Nice voice too. I can't say I've ever heard of him though. Sad to see he died so young. I'm sure he would have made many a housewife happy as a dishwasher! Thanks..
14 months without trying to see if your dishwater worked. If the dishwasher in my house didn't work after a few days my wife might wish to get shot of me........ I am the dishwasher and I am fully automatic.

Hans.
I can understand your joy Patsy ! I have had a dishwasher in my kitchen for 30 years ( not the same one ! ) and I never wash a spoon by hand !

Failure to drain is usually something fairly minor....some food caught in the pump, for instance. According to a repairer friend of mine, sweetcorn is a major cause this !

I did try it several times Hans. In the past we did ask a plumber and somebody who knows about these machines but didn't want to touch it! Just advised us what it might be. It's probably because it's a slim line inbuilt one. Good for you that you are the dishwasher and automatic! :-)

My theory is a piece of food probably got caught in drainage pipes and blocked it. Then when it has dissolved/ broke down over the months, then obviously clears. I must stress though that I always get rid of any bits of food and swill them before putting into machine. Other people have used it so don't know how thorough they were!..
