I'd stick to decent TV makes (Samsung or LG) from decent retailers (Richer Sounds, John Lewis). Cheap unknown makes from dodgy retailers are a sure way to waste money.

Richer Sounds would also be the first place that I'd look.

However it's worth remembering that AO.com, who're principally known for selling white goods, also sell TVs. (They've got an impressive reputation):
