On your kitchen scales 2 tangerines and 10 grapefruits exactly balance 3 melons. You also find that 3 tangerines and 2 grapefruits exactly balance 1 melon. Assuming that each fruit's weight is consistent, what is needed to exactly balance 9 tangerines and 6 grapefruit?

9 tangerines and 6 grapefruit is three times 3 tangerines and 2 grapefruit, so 3 melons would balance.
The first piece of information is redundant.
