A neighbour has this is it like bi polar?
Read up on it but so much info to take in. I'm seeing her tommorow so want to be understanding

say it is a long greek word and you're not sure what it means

low grade bi polar
if it needs treatment then it usually isnt cyclothymia

[ you need treatment if you cant work is a useful rule of thumb ]
Similar in the respect of mood swings, if she has a diagnosis there are helpful therapies they will offer.

Just listen and be there for her, what a good friend you are to want to understand.
It isn't 'a bit like' bipolar disorder. It is actually bipolar disorder but simply at the very mild end of the spectrum:
