Talking of God - for Christ's sake, is it at all possible to peruse or participate in a thread these days, without reading who does or doesn't like who!

It has nothing to do with the origial question!

russian, don't suppose you took any pictures of this miracle? or filmed it? or can name the town, orphanages and the man with the ham?

thought not. how convenient.

Supernick, the more refined version of that view states you only need the knowledge of evil to appreciate the good. That means once you know evil exists you no longer ever need to experience it again diractly to know the good. Therefore any subsequent evil is totally unnecessary.

And the name God has in the bible is 'I am'. The eastern religions take this one literally. Q: "Who is God" A: "I am".

Then who's fault is it all?

Very true David H. It's not helpful to think of it as a literal translation though, 'I am' implying God is within us and part of us, and is us, but we are not God if you see what I mean. Given that the Bible is the direct word of God, the 'I am', as in 'I am the way, the truth and the light' is the word of God. So it is referrring to 'himself'.

With the evil point, i suppose that you could argue that you need to be constantly fighting the path of evil to build your soul and character further.

I am just playing devils advocate though. I'm not sure that you can justify burning children at Auschwitz as some sort of master plan to help us all.

Another point to raise is that we are vry fixed here in the idea of a christian God. If anything our world looks like the flawed attampts of an infantile God, who embarrassed at his own handiwork, upped and left.

I am a God
All bow down in the sacred and awesome presence of the everlasting know-it-all, Zeus! May the Schwartz be with you!
I don't believe in God exactly but I believe in something. I have trouble in believing in something I can't see, Paganism is much easier to believe because nature is visual, you can understand worshipping the seasons. So many awful things happen to innocent people so if there was a God why does he/she let them happen?
ruler of Mount Olympus, leader of both gods and men, what more could you ask for? lol
My point exactly miffy63, if there was such a being of loving caring god :---- "WHY" does he/she allow such evil, un-called for "ATROCITIES" to happen to innocent, infirm, helpless humans and animals?......... xxx
No I didn't but quite a few other people did.If you must know there were a few atheists watching this happen and ALL of them have since become Catholics. Also it has been accepted by scientists as ''scientificaly unexplainable'' and the Pope has accepted it as an offical miricle.
