OH and I just just bat ck from Venice after a four day break to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, had a lovely time and ticked one off the bucket list by drinking 20 euro bellinis in Harry's bar,,,,of Hemmingway and Michael winner fame, place total rip off but been there etc, weather lovely and did mural glass factory etc, happy new year to all abers

Prudie, obviously visit St Marks Square + the church with the Gold Dome, regards drinks, go over the Rialto Bridge & make your way to the off beat streets, prices are very moderate.

Prudie, if you have to get yourselves from the airport to your hotel (and back again) then don't bother with the bus or coach; my advice is to take a water taxi - fantastic trip.
TWR advice is good too; like most major cities Venice can be expensive but go back one or two streets and Bar/Restaurant prices are more realistic.

Thank you Captain, have looked at the idea of water taxi one way and train the other? And TWR thanks, the negatives I've heard are pickpockets, stinking canals and a mortgage needed for anything bought in St Mark's Square. Lozzy I'm expecting to get a few cornettos :-)

Good morn Prudie hpy new year, Pickpockets can be found anywhere it's just the case of being cautious, we did not find the "Stinking Canals" anywhere, but on saying that, we only had a day there, in the "Square" the drinks /Sarnies were out of this world with costs, we came across this cafe in the back streets with drinks very cheap, don't worry enjoy yourself.
