burn dvd

i have a cd and dvd writer on my pc. i can burn music onto cd no problem, but when i try burning movies onto dvd it doesnt work. what am i doing wrong?

what software are you using?

are you just using the XP buring softawre to copy a .avi file to a DVD and have it work in your main DVD player?

try a program from avs media called avs video converter 4 it converts your dowlnloaded films & burns it in one go,if you get the unregistered version(which is free) it flashes up a little watermark in the middle of the screen when you watch it but its hardly noticable, its an easy program to use but if you get it & get stuck post a question.
