But a weeny rant.

OH and I want to save money yet he is hell bent on saving nothing.

For example his phone contract is up for renewal and he is happy to pay £55 per month when he can get the same phone for £10 less on a different network. Or pay a huge upfront fee to get it about £47.

He also keeps going to the supermarket to buy sandwiches when I have a fridge and cupboards full of things for lunch and sarnies.

Just annoys me so much as I feel I'm doing all the saving for both of us.

some useful ideas here but I can't help feeling they're are about manipulating him. A gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do, but really, it would be best to get this out in the open. Does he want to save or not? If he doesn't, does he expect to go without these holidays and cars, or does he expect someone else to pay for them?

One person resenting having to do all the work isn't a great basis for a relationship.
I was just about to post what jno said
I don’t mean this next bit to be offensive but well......
I used to work in the NHS in rehabilitation....all kinds of problems, strokes, fracture, joint replacement...loads of stuff. One of the things were were taught, and its very true, is to pay attention more to what people do than what they say. Rehab is usually very hard work for the patient and for the family. people will say that they want to do something and you lay out for them what they will need to do to it in terms of alterations to the home, exercises, practice and so on. You point out it will be hard, suggest alternatives but they say no they will do whatever.......but somehow there is always a reason why they don’t do the next step......
basically, what I am saying is that talk is cheap and he’s a grown up. You shouldn’t need to coax, persuade, control. Sorry but its true.
