I was just about to post what jno said
I don’t mean this next bit to be offensive but well......
I used to work in the NHS in rehabilitation....all kinds of problems, strokes, fracture, joint replacement...loads of stuff. One of the things were were taught, and its very true, is to pay attention more to what people do than what they say. Rehab is usually very hard work for the patient and for the family. people will say that they want to do something and you lay out for them what they will need to do to it in terms of alterations to the home, exercises, practice and so on. You point out it will be hard, suggest alternatives but they say no they will do whatever.......but somehow there is always a reason why they don’t do the next step......
basically, what I am saying is that talk is cheap and he’s a grown up. You shouldn’t need to coax, persuade, control. Sorry but its true.
