Tv Less

Have had a few posts on here in the past about the merits of having / not having a television. (including one memorable post about the fact that I havnt had a tv license for years...but we'll let that one slide for now)
However, since last Friday, Ive been back on broadband and have put my TV in storage and where my TV once stood I now have my desk and Laptop.
In the past I have lived quiet happily without a TV but this time it seems somehow disquieting.
Is it possible to actually get so used to having a TV that you get withdrawals from having something that you hardly used, viewing things that you never really took notice off and was in effect a piece of furniture?
Just missing that 'picture' in the background.
Madness...

We have a nice largish smart TV which never goes on before about 6.50pm and we only have it on when there's something that we really want to see....having previously been through the Radio Times and circled the progs that are worth watching. The set is "off" at all other times because we both dislike TV as a "background". Some nights it's not on at all! There are so many other things to do that we quite like it when there's nothing on we want to see. (The radio, however, is on all the time that the TV is off).
