teeth whitening at home

Can anybody recommend any teeth whitening toothpastes/kits that actually work? I want to purchase one but I don't know where to start!

happyducky some time ago I read an article - I believe in Look Magazine - about the dangers of home teeth whitening. If my memory serves me correct then apparently some of the kits contain all sorts of bleech etc etc and the people who had tried them had their teeth stripped of enamel and sensitised for life. I'm sure one photo was particularly gruesome (I was on my way to work and remember turning over the page and shuddering because it was early in the morning and I didn't feel strong enough to face it!) I would try and find this article if I was you before you use any teeth whitening kit!

If you go into Boots or one of the larger pharmacies, they sell several types of tooth whitening kits, but as Beads says - I wouldn't bother. My friend tried these kits for quite a while, and the result was negligible. Most people don't have ultra-white teeth anyway, but you still fancy the bleached look, you'd be better off having a word with your dentist.

I know they sell whitening gels (not sure what they're called) on Ebay, in higher concentrations than what you can get in the uk in the shops, and that is pretty much what dentists use. Anything you can find in shops has such a low concentration of "active" ingredient (due to legislation) that it can't make any difference. I suggest you ask your dentist what they use, and if they can recommend anything. You have to be very careful, as said above, because some of the products can cause enamel damage and tooth sensitivity.

I used a whitener, I think it was called Hollywood or something, It was in a purpley box and they sell it in ASDA, it's got a three step process and you have to do it morning and night for ten minutes, It works...untill you stop using it, you have to use it all the time or your teeth will go back to how they were.

Asked my dentist somethin similar back in january, and she said that all the toothpastes are worthless as they can't sell over the counter products that contain enough ingredients to actually work. Waste of money. I've tried a pearl drops one and the results were minimal. I'd get it done professionally if at all. Apparently the professional procedure can be as painful as anythin, making teeth ultra sensitive and excrutiating.

Teeth whitening strips are the most used way of teeth whitening at global way.
It's one unit consist of two strips, one for the upper jaw and second for the lower one. You have to make it stick to your teeth for some time. During this sticking period, the chemical that is tagged with the strips will soften the teeth stains. The soften teeth stains can later one be easily removed by brushing.
I would suggest to purchase teeth whitening strips. The precautions needed are,
1. Make it sure that they are recommended by the American Dental Association.
2. Use it exactly the same way as mentioned on the packaging.
