is a bit absurd?
I mean, why are we here for such a short time (less than 1000 months if you live to be 80) And a lot of that time is then spent trying to work out what life is about, going through all kinds of 'trials' and then we exit non the wiser?
On top of that we have absolutely no idea why we are here except that dads sperm met mums egg in a trillion to one chance, no idea why we are even conscious of that fact and absolutely no idea why there is 'something' rather than nothing.
I don't think we start thinking about things like this until we face bereavement, at least I didn't. I feel most strongly that there IS something else after life, but that's my opinion and only relevant to me for various reasons, but it is hard to go on when grieving for a lost loved one. Hope that's not too heavy !
How about the theory that life is an illusion ? When you sleep you have dreams of another life, you have no recollection in your dream that it is a dream so how do we know, that when we are supposedly awake we are actually awake & living. Maybe the dream state is the true life.
