Nasal Bone Spur

After having my nose broken and reset twice I developed what I was told is called a nasal bone spur due to it not healing correctly. I have a teeny teeny bump on my nose which nobody can really see but is so so painful. It feels like a tiny stone is under the skin and trying to break through. It hurts all the time, irritates and when I enquiries with doctor about it she said the only remedy was further surgery. I didn't ask how invasive a surgery but this is really really bothering me know so does anybody know?

Well, the extent of the surgery,will depend on the extent of the deformity and other problems e, the nasal septum.
If there is just a boney spur than it will be quiye a simple matter to have it "chiseled off", if however other deformities, seen or unseen, are present then you may need a more extensive procedure that of a Septorhinoplasty.....not the end of the world, but quite extensive.

Thanks Sqad. It can barely be seen and probably 95% of people wouldn't even notice it but it's actually quite painful and it's exactly where any glasses/sunglasses sit so they are practically impossible to wear.

I see. Assuming that there are no other abnormalities in the nos and accepting that you have a spur which is not visible, but is painful, I don't think that you would get much sympathy from the surgeons.
I think that it would be take Ibuprofen or other analgesics and monitor the situation.

Ohhh . Thanks for replying anyway. Maybe I'll just get a nail file and do a bit of DIY!
