Fast Charger For Smartphone
6 Answers
I got myself a smartphone off ebay recently - an Xperia Z3 compact. It has a magnetic strip for recharging as well as the usual connection - mini or micro USB. I also bought a magnetic charging dock that uses the plug charger and a USB lead with a magnetic charger. My thought (and hubby's) was that would minimise usage and wear on the other charging port. However, I find that my battery is draining pretty fast; down to 50% after 4 hours.
My question is this - do you think that the magnetic charger, which registers as 'charging rapidly' causes the battery to drain faster? Would the charge last longer using the mini/micro USB connection? Thanks in advance.

I looked up the best way to recharge today's smartphone batteries for longer life and usage, and it recommended recharging at 50% but not topping right up to 100% - again that advice is pretty useless if you leave it to charge overnight.

I doubt that charging the phone by induction would cause it to discharge more quickly.....have you actually compared battery-life after charging by the two different methods...or is it just a "feeling" you have?
You bought the phone off ebay...presumably "used" or "refurbished"...are you certain that the battery is in good condition? I hope it is because the battery in this phone is described as non-replaceable.

I've no idea about the battery - yes it was refurbished, the condition was not mentioned in the details.
I have tried switching things off when not in use. One app I use is for a fitness band, and although it doesn't come up as a power guzzler, it's constantly looking for the band even when bluetooth is off.
