Why do we have singers singing 4 us who are put 2gether 4 the contest or never been heard of? Why can't it be proper bands/singers like busted, will young ...........

Because of the stigma attached to performing in what is seen as a somewhat tacky contest. Performers from other European countries consider it an honour to be asked to take part, and so their best performers are put forward for it. Over here, a lot of artists would think it a bit beneath them, maybe not in the early years with the likes of Cliff Richard and Sandie Shaw representing us, but more so nowadays. It can be hard to taken seriously as an artist, if you are known as a Eurovison performer.

Also because of the qualifying rules in recent years, in the UK have stated (on and off) that bands or singers must be unsigned to enter the competition for selection.......There is no rule in the main event that stipulates that and you don't even have to come from the country you are representing...Celine Dion sung for Switzerland one year.

well based on what i saw last night there's no way we will even be close to winning! It was such a load of ********! Did find the girls trying to be mystique so bad it was funny!
