After having my living room radiator taken off the wall and the pipework capped off at the ceiling; I've been told that it's gonna take three or four hours to add an elbow to the existing pipe work, then add a long straight piece of pipe, and then another elbow and the avtr to connect it to the radiator. Is this true? There is only about 15 cm of wriggle room between the bottom of the window and the floor (where the radiator will be) and i've been told that due to this a lot more time will need to be spent to make sure the pipes come down to the correct height.
Pipe drops taken down and connected to a radiator should only take an hour or so including hanging the radiator. It's not clear from your question whether this exactly what's going to be done.
Perhaps the extra time is to allow for draining, re-filling, bleeding, and getting the system running again.
thanks guys, it ended up being a nightmare and he didn't really know what he was doing despite having really good reviews. You were both right though, it should of only taken a hour
