After putting off whilst I recuperated from a procedure a couple of weeks ago. We finally went to see this film last night..... Absolutely brilliant, in my opinion......Mrs Bear and youngest daughter loved it too......Audience, as packed, even applauded at the end.....
Audacious, retro, funny and heartfelt, La La Land is the latest great musical for people who don't like musicals - and will slap a mile-wide smile across the most miserable of faces.
"La La Land" deserves all the awards, Oscar Nominations, and praises it has received so far, and more. It's an ode to jazz, cinema, theater, classical musicals and love.....Gosling and Stone are simply brilliant, great chemistry, wonderful dancing, and one of those films you are priveliged to get to see. Might even go again. John Legend, great in it too.
If you can see it, do, as you hopefully won't be disappointed......14 Oscar nominations!!.....Wow and deserved. :-)
Feeling a lot better, thanks.... appetite slowly coming back....went out Tuesday and yesterday shopping and exercise in Brighton and Worthing, spot of lunch in the Lanes one day and Ask Italian the other, then went to see film at around 6.00pm.
Yep... Trainspotting 2 tomorrow and Mel Gibson's Hacksaw Ridge too....may go to see one tomorrow as still off from working another week at least.
Looking forward to them both.....Buzz looking good. :-)
I wouldn't have gone to see this film anyway, it doesn't appeal, but when I saw the label 'Feel good film of the year ...' applied to it, that was its doom sealed for me!
You might like it, Andy......If you like Jazz music and traditional old, like Charlie Parker, George Duke and Thelonious Monk.....Gosling apparently learnt how to play piano and keyboards from scratch, and his playing is superb.
Not just a musical....Far more than that......It does make you feel good, funny enough, when you've just seen it.....and it is happy and sad as well....No spoilers.
