This to me is just more scaremongering from the Remainiacs, do they actually believe that Britain will forcibly deport all EU nationals once we leave the EU?

Anybody believing differently needs their bumps felt. They came here in good faith under the rules prevailing at the time ad they should be allowed to remain here for as long as they want (including the freedom to leave and return) but they should retain the citizenship of their home country. It is also doubtful in the extreme that other EU nations will attempt to deport UK nationals resident abroad.
This is another example of the continuing influence of “Project Fear” over matters associated with Brexit. It may well be that the UK authorities are taking a more robust approach to people from other EU countries applying for UK citizenship. Personally I would expect such an attitude to prevail all the time as UK citizenship is not to be handed out like sweeties. What I would like to see is a cessation of the right to permanent residency for any arrivals who turn up for the first time after A50 is triggered. Our EU membership is effectively ended from that date and there is no reason why rights afforded by our EU membership should be extended beyond that date. This of course would also effect UK citizens fleeing abroad.

No Bobsy they are being scared by the Bremoners.
It is nonsense of course (unless you are an illegal, jailbird or sponger) since it would wreck our economy.
Much of this stems from the liberal elite accusing leavers of being racist and wanting all foreigners out. This is not true and leavers also appreciate that immigration, controlled, will continue.

There will be no promises as yet because both sides need to know they aren't going to allow folk to stay while the other side chooses to repatriate their immigrants; but no rational person really believes anyone wants to cause that sort of trouble. Though why some idiot would want to waste time and money forming a group to investigate irrational concerns is beyond any common sense. Must have an ulterior political motive.
“Funny, all the Brexiteers don't seem to be up in arms about the fact that the EU are trying to assert their authority over us, on behalf of their fellow citizens.”
Not worth getting into a lather over, Zacs. Granting UK citizenship is solely a matter for the UK. The Euromaniacs can have their amusement with us as they've clearly no clue how to deal with the real problems the Union faces. By the time their “investigations” are completed we’ll be long gone.
