Old Pillows.

What on earth do you do with them? Dustbin, recycle bin, recycling centre, take the filling out and wash?

I have four to get rid of. What shall I do with them?

Assuming its the usual hollowfill stuff in them then I binned mine because my bin folk don’t recycle them...If you want to reuse the filling, say for stuffing a large toy, then wash and dry it while its still a pillow or it will make a real mess of your machine. Don’t put any out for the birds as its strong and not bio degradeable so its dangerous

I wash mine and give them to the dogs and cats for their beds

It does depend on the filling, as Woofgang says I used to wash and reuse those hollowfill ones when I made toys.

Wash them, and the sheets and duvets we don't use or need too, bag them up and give them out to the many homeless people on Brighton, and surrounding areas streets......they really appreciate it.

When fabrics/textiles are taken to the recycling centre/tip what happens to them? Are they shredded?

I use mine to stuff beanbags.

In France, we took them to the SPA (same as RSPCA) for comfy beds. We also collected old duvets, stitched them into appropriate sizes, cut them up and donated them for the same purpose. :)

Of course if your pillows are still good and just spare you can make these - use five if you want them longer.
