I have just changed my Dell GX520 for a Dell 780 and tried to install the above web camera. But the screen comes up with:

"This product is not designed for your current operating system"

Is this because the new one is a 64 bit system instead of the old one, a 32 bit system? Is there an answer, other than buying a new webcam?

What is the operating system on your new and old PCs? If you've moved up to W10 you might find that Logitech haven't produced drivers for it, in which case you wil have to buy a new camera.
I have a quick cam pro 500 that works on both 32 and 64 bit Windows XP 7 & 10. You probably just need to download new drivers

Well, I`ve tried them all! The 3 mentioned by togo, do not work on my machine i`m sorry to say.
Bertrum - can you remember which site you chose to download your successful drivers?

Bhg - operating system was windows xp on the dell Gx520 and is now Windows 7 on the 780.

Still trying!!
Logitech never provided a Windows 7 driver for your camera. They only supported XP and Vista. The Vista driver might work

otherwise you almost certainly need a new webcam.

This should meet your requirements well enough:

//In order to manually update your driver, follow the steps below (the next steps):
1. Extract the .cab file to a folder of your choice
2. Go to Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel), or right click on Start Menu for Windows 10 and select Device Manager
3. Right click on the hardware device you wish to update and choose Update Driver Software
4. Choose to select the location of the new driver manually and browse to the folder where you extracted the driver
5. If you already have the driver installed and want to update to a newer version got to "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
6. Click "Have Disk"
7. Browse to the folder where you extracted the driver and click Ok//

Sorry folks, have been ill for a while. have been in touch with Logitech who say that the Pro5000 will not and was never intended for the Windows 7 version, so i guess it`s a new Webcam now!
