I usually use a powdered sweetener on my porridge, but recently thought of trying Stevia. To me it has no sweetness at all, but has a curious faint taste of something slightly unpleasant. Do other people experience sweetness with this product, or is it not intended for porridge ?
Isn't stevia a plant? If so, you can't get more natural than that.
Atlanta, if you can force your porridge down without sugar or sweetener for a few days you'll come to like it like that. I suggest small portions at first though :D
Try one envelope of Stevia and however much Splenda it takes to achieve the taste you want. I happen to use one and one...
I've used that combination for some time, especially in coffee.
Stop tell you the truth, I sneak a 1/4 tsp of brown sugar on my porridge, and have been know to put a bit of maple syrup or honey. It gets boring otherwise.
What I want to know is - how can this Stevia stuff call itself a sweetener when I can taste no sweetness at all - even when I use twice as much as I would of any other powdered sweetener ?
Your Answer...Yes I tried it this week, and it had a curious revolting taste so I even left my coffee and went back to sugar! I'd like to know if there is a sweetener that is tasteless,
