/// Petition says Trump should not be invited to the UK on a state visit to avoid embarrassing the Queen ///

This is rich coming from those who with half the chance get rid of our Monarchy.

Interesting to see that Leftie Gary Lineker has indoctrinated his two sons to follow in his footsteps.

I hate the man and I didn't sign.

I wonder out of all those 1.5 million who signed the petition, how many were Muslims?

Or were the majority of them, those who wish to be offended on behalf of others?
I believe there is actually a petition inviting Trump on a state visit.
Meanwhile, there is also one in ireland urging Mr kenny not to meet Trump on St Patrick's Day, and British MPs will debate the visit to London on Feb 20
I will never sign a petition to ban him.
Trump is doing what the American people elected him to do. He is keeping his election promises. I don't understand the outrage. Equally, Erdogan is doing what he was elected to do. It is not our business - except for making our disagreement visible, if that is how we feel. I've answered on the other thread that this is about States and not individuals. ER is more than capable of taming Trump by overawing him and in doing so she will buy our country his respect, to all our benefit. In an uncertain world this is important.

Of course he should pay a state visit. Ridiculous to suggest otherwise. Obama banned Iraquis from the US and how much was that publicised?
I did sign in the end. Won't make any difference but ...
AOG - //Interesting to see that Leftie Gary Lineker has indoctrinated his two sons to follow in his footsteps. //

Why do you presume that because Mr Lineker is a 'leftie' as you so delicately put it, that he must have 'indoctrinated' his sons?

Leaving aside the presumptions that Mr Lineker is a 'leftie', is 'indoctrination' purely the preserve of the left? I somehow doubt it!

Maybe you should do Mr Lineker's sons the courtesy of assuming that, as men in their twenties, they have made their own minds up about their political affiliations, and that they have not been 'indoctrinated' at all.
Andy....I agree but more importantly, where is the evidence that Gary is a "leftie" ?

And even if he is, why is that significant ?
paddywak - //So 1.5 million people have signed a petition against Trumps visit, but what about the millions who haven't signed because they agree with Donald? //

That presupposes that people who didn't sign, didn't sign because they agree with the policy.

That's a seriously dodgy conclusion.

It leaves out all the people who, like me, don't agree with the policy but have opted not to sign, and far more importantly, the millions of people who collectively don't sign petitions, have not had access to sign, or - and this is the millions-majority - don't care what President Trump, or any other politician, does or doesn't do.

So you cannot presume non-signature to be tacit agreement, it is patently not.
