Heartily sick of my Epson printer and have decided to ditch it. I think this is my 3rs Epson but - no more. Sick of the inks jamming ( I think ) and despite using the head cleaning and alignment facility it still takes ages to make up its mind to print anything and often is plagued by vertical lines. It also repeatedly does not connect by Wi fi even though it stands side by side with my desk top. Says the printer is off-line. OK, probably most of these things can be sorted but not by me. My patience is exhausted. Looking for a recommendation please. Looking for a all in one printer/scanner. Print photos and documents. I think separate ink cassettes are cheaper rather than replacing multi colour cartridges but thoughts would be welcome, thans

With a laser you wont have the head cleaning or alignment issues.
This seems to fit the bill with a 2 year warranty... if it goes wrong you will get a new printer

Have a look at the reviews .. even the worst one doesn't condemn it.

This type of question comes up quite often and, without a doubt, the most frequently recommended brand here is Canon.
Like you, I prefer separate ink cartridges. Therefore if I was curently looking for an inkjet printer, this would be my choice:

(It's probably no coincidence that the model featured there just happens to be the nearest current equivalent to the printer which I've actually got and love, the MG5350. I spent weeks doing my research before deciding that it was the best buy for me!)
Here's my recommendation for compatible inks:

Don't know how sophisticated a printer you're after, but I bought a very simple, non wi-fi, HP printer/scanner/copier in Tesco (about £35), and I have to say I've been very happy with it, and it's coped well with occasionally having to print pages and pages of agendas and minutes. I also like that it operates with one colour cartridge and one black-and-white; the latter only cost about £11 to replace (also in Tesco)
Thank you all for your recommendations. I hadn't thought of a laser printer but this is somewhat larger than I would wish. It also looks as though you have to refill the cartridges with toner - did I get that fact right?
I like the look of both the Canons, the cartridges are expensive but so are the Epsons. I have used compatibles before but found they clogged up the print heads which resolved when I changed back to genuine ones. Using compatibles nullifies the guarantee, well it did on Epsons.
Sorry goodgoalie but I have a "thing" about Tesco. Not the cheapness angle, just that particular organisation.
Guess I need a trip to PC World. Thank you all so much for your help.
