I know that racism is on the increase....that is obvious to anyone. But why is this anti-semitic hate crime on the up ?

The Community Security Trust are a shadowy organisation, and I do not trust their figures. It is run by convicted Guinness Four fraudster Gerald Ronson. He seems to have the Home Office wrapped around his finger, and many local Rabbis and Jewish Community Groups and the Jewish Police Association recent the CST interference.

The CST would class the statement "Israel should not expand its settlements in the occupied territories" as an antisemitic hate crime - even if the statement was made by a Jew.

The CST must be the most unsuccessful Security organisation in the world. Since they have arrived on the scene, attacks have consistantly risen by double digits every year.

Of course, the more crime it reports, the more money it gets from the Home Office and rich donors.

Mikey....I have been asking the same question for years on AB and when the posts become "realistic" then i have found that the posts are removed.
By talking to people, I have no doubt that anti-Semitism is on the rise in Germany and convinced in my own mind that it is also in the UK.
I cannot comment on the reports of the CST or other organisations.....just my opinions from conversations.......make of that as you will.

I speak personally.......there is a tendency to mistrust Jews, to feel that they are "doing you down" in some way, unreliable and a soert of "unfathomable sect" with odd religious traits.
They look different, they pray differently, they keep themselves to themselves and in an odd way take a superior attitude to the rest of society....clingy and difficult to integrate with, unless you are "one of them."

Well, there you go...that is my take on the subject however irrational or anecdotal.

Gromit, if you think the CST are 'a shadowy organisation', why not take a look at their website. Shadowy organizations do not normally reveal so much about themselves.
This information may also correct sadpuffin's statement that the CST was set up to 'monitor racism'.
Their main work appears to be protecting the small Jewish community in the UK. This seems to consist of offering and installing such items as security fencing and cameras at schools, synagogues, and similar places.
The fact that such places as schools and synagogues need to have security measures is probably fear of similar attacks as happen in other European countries: most often by those mentioned by anotholdgit.

This may be unpalatable, but the fact remains that Muslims do not like Jews. I presided over this conflict in the classroom many times. The population now includes many more Muslims - ergo more anti-Jews. I do not exonerate some Jews from provoking attitudes, but the Muslim percentage cannot be ignored.
