Doris doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as predicted round here. It's the "Fish Factor" manifesting itself again I suppose, but this "crying wolf" is actually counter-productive as it encourages disbelief in all these type of warnings.

Bit like the Express predicting the worst winter again and again and again....
^ The Mail does that as well, we're supposed to be in for another freeze later on this month - we'll see !
Yep BBC weather had 50mph gales down here for most of the day. Yes it's been raining but no wind worth mentioning at all.
Yeah what happened to Doris, she has stood us up ( well has in the West Mids anyway ).
I WILL NOT have my name taken in vain by a piddly bit of wind ...

... one day I will return and you will all be blown away.

PS - this new site's a bit garish ... can someone get me some shades
are they oral or suppositries, tony>
Mmmmmm, well they are gel caps DT.
Agree that Doris has been more docile than predicted, but a couple of hours ago here in Wiltshire, we had a strong gust of wind. It shook the house, there was a crash and a bang that resulted in one of my three wheelie bins being blown over!
I did think about sending photos of the event to the BBC!
here in the south it was a bit exciting earlier. I nearly got a heavy double glazed door pulled out of my hand by the wind as I was closing it.
