Dodgy Sky reception

Sorry if this isn't the right topic to post this. Anyone know why my Sky reception has gone really weird lately? One day the reception's fine, the next day only a few channels work, another day none at all, etc. I know it's not the box as I've tried another one with no success. If it was the weather, why didn't it do the same last year? I don't really want to pay nearly �70 just to get an engineer out unless I have to. Thanks!

EITHER there is a car parked nearby with a tracking device OR the dish is out of allignment,i assume you are out of warranty?

We had to get a new power supply when ours did that ,but if you have tried another box then it's more than likely the LMB on the dish :o)

we had this fairly recently and after contacting Sky and them doing various tests whilst I was on the phone to them, they eventually said I needed an engineer to call, yes �69 later we needed a new LNB thingy on the dish and since then it has been fine, the signal went right up. You can check the signal by looking on your tv, can't remember the exact procedure, would need to go through it stage by stage, but worth checking before paying out.

I would say it is definetly your LNB.

You'd be surprised matty how often it DOES happen,normally with BMW's parked out front,but if your dish is out of line by 2ml,that will knock your signal!

And for the record,we work for SKY!!
