Did anyone see this mornings Jeremy Kyle? There was a 16 year old girl going out with a 48 year old man!! I couldn't believe what I was watching!!
My question is what age gap is acceptable?
Just want to know your views!!

Well in that case its just the fact that he was a lechy old man,according to his sister the girl was a slapper,in some cases i dont think age is quite so important if the chemistry is right and no-one's getting hurt!!

Age gap relationships are a tough subject as I have seen both fail miserably and succeed fantasticly!
In fact my best friend is in a age gap relationship and they are the most stable and happy out of any of my friends or familes relationships.
I guess it depends on the individuals really.....

I think it depends. I know of a 15 yr age gap that is going down the swanny because as you older the gap becomes more apparent.
I am 27 and although there are some lovely 18 yr olds out there I would never date one. I would probably go as young as 24 and as old as 40. I deally for me I would like early to mid 30s.
A 16 yr old girl however should not be dating anyone over 20. Of course I did but now it makes me want to puke when I think about it.

I don't see the problem- it's only society that forces false values on individuals who are all different. When it comes to attraction age is only one criterion amongst many others which are more important. Live and let live.

When I was 19,I started a 9 year relationship with a man 15 years older than me,but it was'nt the healthiest of relationships,he told many lies & acted like the younger one,while I wanted to make it work.I tried hard but in the end I could'nt take his c***p anymore.He never grew up & do'nt think ever has.I feel I wasted a good chunk of my youth on him & would love to ask him why he acted like he did.
But thats just my experience,I'm sure there are age-gap relationships out there that are very successful,just not for me!!!

My boyfriend 14years older than me and we've been together for 4 years and living together for 2 and a half and we're very happy. I don't think an age gap is a problem.

However as the girl is only 16 I think its very odd that a 48year old man would be interested. Its a lil bit creepy. Mind you the normal guests on Jeremy Kyle are generally a bit mental and, not wanting to be mean, a bit thick.

I don't think there is anything wrong with age gap relationships generally but when the female in question is still a child and the man is old enough to know better then it's worrying - especially when he's paying her for sex and getting her to sleep with his mates! Every situation is obviously different but this particular bloke was blatently a dirty old man.

I thought it was good when JK, threw him off! I don't blame him! I think age is important because more often than not you have hardly anything in common because there from different eras! Also how you feel is important but I certainly wouldn't feel right if I was dating a man half my age!!
