Before you go much further have you tried clearing your 'cache' in Firefox by using CTRL+F5. Then try and post a question, see if that works
I only have a laptop, it works. Pay attention to what cleverer folks than I have advised.

thanx s.alice, that was uncalled for jordian2

s.alice, pressed ctrl+f5, and the screen went black, should it do this? or what?
Why are you having problems on your laptop ? A laptop is just like any other computer !
I would assume that the poster is having the same initial problems that we all had with the new site and that other posters realise this and are trying to help.
I also have been using Firefox - which just for the record I keep fully updated - for many years. I`m on Win 10 Pro with Norton Security and that program we dont mention and never had any issues on my lappy.

Are all the drivers on your machine up to date?

thanx for your understanding donny48, mike444??
luckily thanx to google i resolved the problem myself, by simply going to menu, history, clear history. job done, i´m now back, with a bang, probably, lol
Glad it's sorted.
Glad your back with a bang ☺☺☺

CTRL+F5 deletes your 'cache' which is part of your history. The 'cache' contains various bits and pieces which your computer uses to build the website you see. When AB changed to its present format then all the old instructions were scrapped. Unfortunately your computer was still trying to use the old info to build the site causing all sorts of problems.
piggynose, I suspect you used the FN key instead of the Ctrl key when your screen went black
