What Sentence Will I Get If Found Guilty Of Abh, My Plea Is Not Guilty.

I am due in court on Monday 13th Feb 2017 for ABH by my EX. I was trying to get of the house as an argument started after a disagreement after we got back from the pub. I had one drink and ex had 3 glass of wine. I grabbed the drink of her at home as she had another drink to prevent her from being ill but then she grabbed it back wine went in her face and it was an accident. I had three t-shirts ripped off me, I was kicked but I kicked her back in self defense. She wouldn't let me go and it was all shove and push but i didn't re-acted in any way or shape of form to cause harm to her.This carried on outside in the car park of the home she stopped me from driving off snapped my wiper. my ex stood away from the car then I reversed back at an angal then drove off to the left away from her then in a split second or two she slung her self at the car on the drivers side wing mirror and i hit the brakes hard she was forced to the ground and hit her head on kerb or road caused head injuries. This is what I am in court for but I acted in self defense and was trying to leave the house for her to calm down and aviod any more confrontation with her.

I have no previous convictions of violince nor have I commited any vilince in my previous relationships. What do you think will happen on Monday?

Mark, hopefully you are legally represented for your court appearance as this is your chance to explain to the court what happened and why you did what you did and a legal representative may be able to explain it better than you can. The court will listen to all the allowed facts to determine if any one is at fault or breaking any laws and deal with it appropriately

As I said in the original answer, if you do not have a solicitor get one.
If you do not have one then arrive at the court early and ask to see the duty solicitor. The solicitor will ask for an adjournment so that he / she can find out all the facts of the case and look at the evidence. Once the solicitor has the facts he / she will suggest the best course of action. DO NOT just turn up on the day and plead not guilty without seeing a solicitor!
