poison ivy cures???

My son has poison ivy and I have tried everything and it keeps getting worse. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you do not have access to medicines or medical advice then you could try this: As I believe the irritant is an alkaline sap of the plant, you could try making up a mild solution of salty water (seawater would be perfect), then apply this gently to the affected areas. In case I am wrong, try on very limited area, if the sap is saline then things will only get worse - but I am fairly certain it isn't. In Britain the common immediate remedy is to rub a doken leaf on the affected area, and it works. Dokens often grow near nettles which are perhaps what you are referring to as poison ivy (not actually the same). Good luck.
One of the best treatments for the rash caused by poison ivy (sumac) is the 'CORTAID' Treatment kit. Its a 3 step treatment but its the most effective. Good Luck.
