^^^ Neither is an inability to produce a counter-argument.
"To kill one man is as if you killed the whole world"

An "expert" who quotes that in support of a theory like "Religion of Peace" is too lazy to have actually examined the source (in this case Sura 5) and read its immediately overses calling for the crucifixion or amputation of unbelievers.

He may be on firmer ground with man-made climate change.
Funny old world, Sandy. Pope Francis washing the feet of Muslim migrants. Queen's chaplain resigns because he objected to the preaching of a Koranic verse which stated that the claim that Jesus was the Son of God was heresy.

'How do you get your head round these contradictions?:
Your post, V_E, followed mine about climate change, where I'm happy to side with the views of the World Health Organisation and countless other internationaly-respected scientific bodies.

However I'm equally happy to accept your point about the rights/wrongs of getting rid of (or attempting to get rid of) Gaddafi, Mubarak and Assad. They (together with others, such as Ben Ali in Tunisia and Saleh in Yemen) provided an element of stability in the Middle East and 'stability v human rights' will always be a difficult issue to address (even when putting aside the national interests of those goverments which are tempted to intervene/interfere in such matters).

Which particular "hollow, shambolic falsehoods" are you referring to, Birdie?
Has Trump advocated any policies detrimental to the UK? If not, why all the fuss? Let him get on with his own business and we'll mind ours.

The media campaign against Trump doesn't require verification, does it?

Difference among recent main players:

Trump: AH/narcissist and bully, BUT wants America (HIS US) to do well .
Obama: Highly principled man who hates the role of Western powers in the last hundred years and wants to reverse that influence. Quit Iraq. Give Iran nukes. Kcuf Israel.
Hillary: Money, money, money.
Clinton is on her own side.
Obama is on the other side.
Trump'[agenda is by and large FOR the American people, isn't it?

Oh, I ought to have said that being on your own side is not a sin.
Sorry, Sandy. You DO believe in the mortification of the flesh, innit?

While the Far Right holds sway we left leaning Christians can leave our celices to gather dust in our wardrobes. We're suffering enough.

Substitute Vatican for American and you may well have a point.
OK, Pope Francis. Is he your guy, Sandy?
How's the merlot?
All you need sandy. is Trump and Boris together and you would have a pair of Bonkers.
OK, this is based on thirty years of visiting the US and talking to people from all walks of life and political persuasion. Many of Trump's views which are held as abhorrent regarding women and immigration are shared by a large number of people, his statements regarding women are just 'men's talk', a view I've heard expressed by both sexes. When we wonder how he ever got elected we need to remember that there is a large portion of America that never gets heard, in the land I heard recently described as fly-over land. We tend to hear from the media who are by nature left of centre and we forget the rest at our peril.

I'm reminded of Aesop's fable, The log King.
The frogs wanted a king so Zeus sent a log to reign over them.
They thought the log too dull and asked for another.
This time Zeus sent a heron.
The American people were apparently tired of the old dispensation and voted for change.
Look what they've got now.
