When Does Half Term Holiday End?

My Partner and I want to go shopping at IKEA (Sad I know)
The nearest IKEA to us is 58 miles away(Croydon) We don't want to go to a shop full of schoolkids(sorry Parents).I think that the Half Term Hol varies from area to area,but can anyone say the last date it will finish at?

Surrey Council schools also have their half-term holiday this week, so most schools will have finished the holiday period by next week.

However you need to note two points:
(a) schools have to allocate 5 training days each year, when the teachers go into work but the children are on holiday; such days are often tagged onto the end of an existing holiday, so some schools might have a staff training day next Monday ;
(b) while most primary schools remain under the control of their local councils, the majority of secondary schools have now opted for 'academy' status, meaning that they're no longer under the control of councils (and thus not obliged to follow the holiday patterns set by those councils).

Kids off next week for us in Sussex......Went down to Bognor Regis for meeting at Butlins yesterday afternoon after work, and they were very busy with families down on their half term break already...

In answer to your question, OldBather....I would leave it until after, or on, this Monday 20th Feb....When the kids are back. Buenchico is correct that sometimes inset days are allocated, and normally can be a Monday, so from Tuesday 21st Feb, you should find IKEA a kids free zone....Happy shopping :-)

We used to live in Mitcham, Surrey and that Croydon branch was only 5 mins from where we lived.
If we ever go now, for a mooch around, it's either that branch, if up that way, or Southampton that we go too.

The problem with this term is the date of Easter. Generally the later Easter falls, as it does this year, then the later the half term holiday.
