I admit I bought into the dream, I bought some but didn't actually use them because I was worried about side effects and such like. Personally I wouldn't waste your money, if there was a miracle cure which would let you lose 10lbs in a week or whatever then you can be sure that you would have heard a lot about it rather than seeing them advertised on pop-up ads online.
when I was much younger I got some prescribed diet pills from my GP as I was obese. They were an appetite suppressant and they really worked. I lost about 25 kg in 4 months. But they did also have several side effects. the main ingredient was caffeine and it was in such a high dose that after taking the tablet you got heart flutters for about 1/2 hr. Then there was the moodiness too. Years on they've now found out that those diet pills are very dangerous and have caused clots and heart attacks in some people. So just because they're prescribed by a GP doesn't mean they're safe.
I did also try those Adios a couple of years ago which semi worked. Couldn't really stick to it. But they're mainly just sea weed etc. So you can always take Sea Kelp.
I now eat healthy and take regular exercise and feel/look much better for it. For me I'm not on a diet. I've had to do a lifestyle change and change everything about the way i look at food too. It's the only way I've been able to stay healthy. With diets you always end up gaining what you've lost anyway.
But if you're adamant then speak to your GP. Hope it all works out for you.
