is stuck too far left, and although I know how to click and drag it to the right, nothing happens. I've rebooted etc. I've been told to try + clear cache, but when I get as far as history, I'm only shown recently closed tabs.

Windows 10, Chrome.

Re clearing History- try clicking Control and H
Or click the word History which should appear above that list of tabs

Have tried all those, but still just seeing list of recently closed tabs :(

Geez. Have just tried logging into Gmail, see if that works any better, but seems if I don't have smartphone I cannot use internet.
Okay- on the left of that list is an option that says Clear Browsing Data but I assume that is too far to the left so you can't see it.
Do you get a box next to each one that you can tick. I also have a Cancel and DELETE button on a blue line above the list. Can you see that?

That worked, ff, but just ginormous list of all recent history with no option to clear them :(

Is there not a quick control/F5 or something?
If you do control- a few times and get magnification down to say 50% you may see the bit you need on the left to Delete All history

Clear Cache is Ctrl + F5
Don't need to adjust horizontal position on your monitor do you ?
It just occurred to me that not all issues are PC ones.

All is well, I've just changed browser to Edge from Chrome. Don't know why I didn't do that before, can't pay Sains order with Chrome.

You could try typing this into the address bar and select “reset settings” this will erase almost everything but won’t delete your bookmarks, browsing history or saved passwords

chrome://settings/resetProfileSettings
Adjusting the controls on a monitor will depend on the monitor. Some have buttons to press, others potentiometer knobs to twiddle. You'd need to look at it's manual.

Manual O-G? They don't come with manuals these days! You have to look for them online ;) I've solved it,sort of.....I use Chrome for some sites, and Edge for others. Would still like that 2"back though ;)
