Any ABers reckon that dreams have any meaning? Or are they just random thoughts thrown together by a sleeping brain.
Keep having a recurring dream that I'm falling backwards into the earth (grave like) and the feeling that I'm dropping into the bowels of some kind of hell or unpleasant eternity.
Always a pleasure to wake up afterwards...

Remember reading some years ago that Freud viewed dreams as unconscious wish fulfilments.
Dunno what this says about me....

Why can I rarely remember my dreams, I just know I've had one and whether it was good, bad or weird.
Insecurity Nailit?
Every so often I have a dream where I go to have a pee
( funnily enough , it's never in my home ) and it always feels that I can't completely empty my bladder .

Then I suddenly wake up , bursting to have a pee .
I suppose that is the subconscious mind protecting one from embarrassment .

Then there are the dreams where I wake up and wonder what the dickens was all that about .
I know most of us have visions in our sleep but is it possible to dream sounds. A few times I've woken up to unexplained noises and incoherent voices...It's a bit unnerving and takes me a little while to get to sleep.
back to sleep ^^^
Apparently the senses of hearing and smell are heightened while you're asleep (which seems sensible as a defence mechanism) but it's extremely rare in my dreams for things to smell or make sounds. Maybe the brain is clever enough to keep those senses alert for real danger and not allow dreams to incorporate them falsely? Dunno.
Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.

That's what we need - a modern day chappie , as mentioned
I do sometimes jump awake when being in a different realm of reality, but I don't take dreams so seriously and quickly dispose of them knowing it was just a dream... I do watch some scary stuff though films etc... and do realise it was just a dream.
I dreamt I was Batwoman once...

Did you finish the dream , or were you left hanging ?

Dreams are strange and fascinating......When I was sixteen I had a long and vivid dream which, within days, came true in every detail. Part of what happened in the dream still worries me a little.....

But talking in my dreams once got me into bother.
In my dream a lady was in the sea in a barrel attached to a rope.
I was encouraging the people holding the rope to save her.....by shouting.......Pull! Pull! Pull! Oh Pull!!!

Unfortunately my muffled shouts sounded, to MrG who I'd woken with my shouts like......Paul! Paul! Oh Paul!

Took an age to convince MrG I wasn't having a passionate dream about my colleague, Paul... :-)

Sounds intriguing gness, like to elaborate on it?
I have the most bizarre dreams that make no sense and also terrible nightmares. I dreamed lastnight about a boy I went to primary school with and haven't seen or spoken to him since!!
Smow I got those falling backwards dreams as part of the menopause because a part of the giddy spells I got was a feeling of falling backwards. Sometimes it woke me and sometimes it went into the dream. The worst times were when I got the giddy spell when sleeping on my stomach. Waking up feeling like you are falling backwards and upwards is a sensation like no other!
I will as best I can, Nailit.....trying to keep it as brief as possible.... :-)

In May my boyfriend and I were to be picked up by two friends for a night out.....one of the friends, Michael, was a close friend of mine...his brother was the driver.
I had a premonition as I got into the car that we shouldn't drive. My boyfriend, reluctantly and with much chuntering, agreed not to go with them so we went back into his house and our friends drove away.

The car burst a tyre, crashed and Michael was killed. The police, having been told we would be with them, spent a long time searching the field for our bodies before coming to the house in the early hours.

In June I had a dream. I was in Rugby railway station in a ladies room.....I could see everything clearly in the dream.
There were toilets with swing doors....my gran stood in one door.....I was in another and a coffin in the third.
In the dream Michael came towards me. I told him not to touch me...if he did I would have to die and come with him.
He went to my gran instead and took hold of her hands.....all the while the coffin was sliding in and out of the toilet cubicle.

The next day my parents came to the shop where I worked. They'd had a telegram to say my gran had died in the night in Ireland.
Would my boyfriend and I drive them to Rugby station to catch the train to Ireland.
We did........and the Ladies room....which I'd never seen....I'd never been to Rugby...was exactly as it was in my dream....even down to the pattern on the legs of the old table in the middle of the room.

So.....a little niggle is that Michael comes to me again in a dream.....x
