Pesky Neighbour's Trees

I have only just got my BT line back again, the line runs trough lleylandii next door and every time there are high winds my line gets snagged /damaged and I lose phone and broadband 'till it can be repaired. This is the 3rd time in 18 months and I am getting sick fed up.She refuses to address the problem ,as they are council tenants I have also complained to them at least 12 times in recent years , have had umpteen wee men come out and all agree they have got to go but nowt happens...suggested imposing The high hedges act rules but because the trees technically belong to the council who are governed by budget this will be difficult to implement..any ideas before I throttle my neighbour or hire a chainsaw and do it..the trees are a good 40ft tall

It's not Minty's responsibility to protect the phone lines. It's BT's.

On a serious not Murray in case some have me wrong, where the line runs through the hedge, can you not get someone to cut a channel each side of the wire?

not really a hedge this is a row of trees some 15 feet other side of the fence
