Windows keep misting up in 2002 Mondeo
I buoght a 2002 Ford Mondeo last year. Whenever it rains and I'm driving the car, the windows mist up. Why is this? The car has a heated windscreen, which helps get rid of the mist, but of all the cars I've driven, it mists up so easily. Someone did mention to me that it could be the pollen filter that needs replacing.
Any thoughts/ideas anyone?
many thanks!

Air is coming out, if I put the fan on 2, more air comes out. The air-con does clear it. I'm not worried about how to resolve the problem, I'm more interested into why it's happening! I have a friend with a similar age Mondeo and it does it in his too. I wonder if Ford came up with the idea of a heated windscreen because it keeps misting up so easily!

You could try cleaning the inside of the windscreen with a good cleaner and then see what happens, many cars get a greasy layer deposited on the glass comprised of all kinds of pollutants which makes it mist up really easily.
Even better, clean it and then apply one of the anti-mist solutions available at all car accessory places.
scrumpy you need to check the seal around your pollen filter housing it lets water soak into the bulkhead insulation look under the scuttle panel you will see your pollen filter it will probaly be damp, its best to get a new seal for the pollen filter housing but run a bead of silicone around it then replace your pollen filter & reassemble it after a good drive with the heaters on the insulation should dry out enough, see how that goes.
