best way to ruin a tv?

I am a nice person really, but I can't let this person take the TV. What is the best way to terminally ruin it?

Open the back of the TV - should be just a couple of screws - pour some honey into the gubbins, sprinkle salt on the honey - job done.

I wouldn't go taking the back of a TV as has been suggested unless you know what your doing. You may end up with a very nasty shock if you get in contact with the back of the tube which is typically 35kV. Even though the current is only about 100mA its still nasty.

Well assuming that most of the above ideas (some of which will not work anyway) will give a more than obvious sign that the unit has been deliberately damaged you might be asking for a lot of hassle if it is a legal matter.

The ways which would probably work and not be obvious will require you to open the unit and do something to the circuit board, if this is not within your capabilities then forget it.

Hmmm... Unless you have access to a three phase power supply, then you might accidentally connect it to two phases at 400vac and then claim ''it just went bang mate''!!

two insurance claims i know (personally)
"accidently" knock a bottle of nail varnish over on top and let it run down the back of tv

whilst dusting tv it slids of cabinet face first onto floor

if u have a big speaker take the magnet out of the speaker and hold it to the screen moving slowly it will wreck the screen enoughf that he wont want it. after all thats done try the magnet again to reverse the damage it worked 4 me

Magnet on screen no good, it can be degaussed to clear.

Swopping live aand earth no good, for two reasons.1 chassis usually not grounded so no earth effect, and 2 most modern tv sets only have 2 wires.

If however you were to spill some Coke (liquid sort) that contains acid and sugar, and once it starts to eat its way across circuit board it wont stop.
