Today's the day!!!
Our beautiful little girl, Phoebe, finally arrives at her forever home.
We're putting a chicken in the slow cooker so that the whole house smells of chicken when she arrives home. Good thinking or what? ;)
Have a happy day everyone xx

Dulcie could not manage stairs. This was in France and we lived in a sous-sol (the living accommodation was on the first floor). We had to carry her up there and down for going for walks at first. Eventually there was a family event in the UK so we looked after her for over a fortnight. I was so thrilled when, one day, I went downstairs to put some laundry in the washing-machine and found Dulcie carefully negotiating the steps to be with me. After that there was no stopping her!
So far Phoebe has been an absolute darling. Nervous, unsure, but trusting and loving.
I'm wondering if she's been house-trained to a degree. She saved up the biggest wee and then went an hour ago when she managed to scale the divide we put down between the decking and the lawn.
She's figured out that the kitchen is where all the magic happens.

Pasta, I remember the abhorrent treatment of Galgos from my days in Spain. They used to hang them from trees //
Yes...and much worse according to a link I found earlier. Apparently it's all tied in with "honour"...if the dog has not hunted well, it has shamed the hunter so must be punished. Horrific and primitive.
Enjoy your first night with Phoebe...she's a very lucky girl. X
