Anybody here have a famous or notable family member or relative?
Any famous or notable ancestor? whether they be a Scientist,Scholar,Inventor,Engineer,Politician,Architect,Artist,Sportsperson,Actor etc.
Any family member decorated by HM the Queen?
Or any family member or ancestor who was a notorious Villain,you feel safe to mention?
In the case of a famous relative,did they take fame in their stride,and remain the same person.Or did they move on to a different social sphere?

not that i know, however there was a granddad who went to prison, don't know why though.
I have an Uncle who used to play for a premiership football team when I was a child. So not rich and not famous But he's a Superstar to me 'cos he's lovely.
My Welsh grandparents always told me Captain Morgan the pirate was my ancestor but I expect that may have been a myth. My grandfather got the MBE from the Queen but loads of people get those.
No we're just a bunch of ordinary peasants.
I've got a cousin who was the musical director for quite a famous singer. He was a complete and utter plonker. None of the family liked him.
My father was a
Musician a Trumpet player, apart from being a soloist he also played for many years as lead trumpet player for Mantovanni. Kind of famous amongst his peers.

It has been said throughout my childhood that we are related to a famous explorer. My uncle has this man's surname as a middle name, as did the explorer's children.
However, I haven't seen any proof of the link.
I like to think it's true though. He was a good man.

One of my ex husbands had a famous uncle. The inventor of the jet. He was not allowed to call him uncle though. He had to call him Mr. Whittle.
