.....cricketer Tymal Mills is an England bowler who is to be paid a contract worth £1.4million by the IPL (Indian Premier League). He claims to have serious back issues meaning he cannot play test or one day cricket just T20 which means he only has to bowl a maximum of four overs per game.

His talent is he bowls very fast, plus 93mph and has clever deceptive use of the slower ball. When asked to bat he has scored a total of 31 runs in 58 matches with a top score of 8

In the last six years he has played for Essex, Sussex,Chatagong Vikings, Brisbane, Quetta, R.C Bangalore.......

......In a different way KP did the same although he was enormously more talented

Well, you can't blame him for getting the most money out of his talent. Cricket is not a particularly well paid sport unless you're a top England or IPL player.

I've never heard of him even though I am a cricket fan.

I wish we still had KP.
We refer to people like that as "Cats", sporting cats, industry cats, etc. Happy to lick from the biggest, creamiest bowl without putting much effort in.
Would you say the same about Usain Bolt because he doesn't run marathons? His talent is also the 'short-game" of the sprints!

Mills is a professional, and therefore should try and get the best deals for his talent. He is limited to 20/20s and therefore has to play for many teams. He would have played in the IPL for much less than 1.4 million, but who in their right mind is going to turn it down when the team bid that amount for him. Is he going to say, oh that is too much, pay me less?

It is not his fault and good luck to him.
Virat Kohli is reputed to be earning $27m this year. t20 is becoming the way forward to the sport, it's not my favourite form of cricket but it's where the big money is these days. I'm looking forward to the cricket season starting here & following Yorkshire CCC both home & away.
