...and will be for the rest of the week I think....though I am shattered......
I have been helping with the Kettering and District Eisteddfod.........well I think I've helped...
But I've had the pleasure of listening to children...very young children.....singing....and playing assorted musical instruments........
They have been brilliant....not just in showcasing their talents but in the way they have supported each other even when they've been competitors in the same class.....
There was one eight year old girl who brought tears to my eyes.......and a good few others......singing an unaccompanied folk song......hair in wobbly bunches.....one sock falling down and a huge plaster on her knee.....prodding up her specs every so often......and she mesmerised the whole room.......
Isn't it a pleasure to be able to take part in something like this.......and to see just how fantastic our young folk are.......bliss....xx
It was wonderful, Emmie.....an absolute delight!.....☺
No, Tilly......we have had the Eisteddfod here for years.......it is so, so good...x
Mikey....Pronunciation! Oh my......Eisteddfod I can do with my eyes closed.....
I have had to do some of the introductions and we have had so many children with foreign names!
The night before last I sat in bed with my ipad learning the names.... then found out I was keeping score and presenting cups......no introductions......
Today I had to call the names.....it was so difficult......but one young lad has give me a lesson in Chinese.......bliss......!
I have taught myself to waffle and look confident whilst waffling though!......☺
was watching a piece on the news, where they have teamed up a group of 4 year olds with old age pensioners, many disabled. They got on famously, good to have some better news, than all this downward stuff.
I suppose it's what I make of it, Conne......I've had some really sad time over the last few weeks.....made my heart break...it's just finding some joy each day isn't it?....And these kids did that for me this week....x
Ahh...but I've made some new workmen friends, Tilly...so the fence has a silver lining.....and black paint!....☺
Mamya...you have no idea how much they cheered us today.....one of our crew is ill....not much longer to live.....to see her enjoying today was.....bliss....x
It is good to find better news, Emmie........and to enjoy it.....x
It is, Patsy......I love watching some of these kids turning up....hair all over the place......ties askew and socks falling down......then play the most amazing Vivaldi or Mozart on the violin.....or.....The Spider on the piano.....it's such a joy.....☺
Sounds as if you had a lovely day with the children G - I watched the programme last night with Dawn French and the children who display different talents, that was great - she was brilliant with them. First time I've watched it.
